Dissertation Research
My dissertation uses mixed empirical methods to examine the effects of insurance denial for gender-affirming care on US transgender adults and normative ethical analysis to argue for coverage of this care under both medical and social models of transgender identity. This work is partially funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (T32HS000029), the National Institute of Health's RADx-UP initiative, and by the Department of Health Policy and Management's Marilyn Bergner Award in Health Services Research. My thesis advisors are Nancy Kass and Brendan Saloner.
